Keravan Energia, a major district heating company near the city of Helsinki and OnZero signed a long-term agreement. OnZero will deliver around 20 GWh of decarbonized waste heat per year to the production facility in Sipoo. After getting in touch earlier in the year, both parties underwent thorough investigations about a potential collaboration.
Early on, Keravan Energia stated that OnZero’s approach for sustainable data centers fits perfectly into their combustion-free district heating strategy.
OnZero’s Digital Heat Plants recover 99% of excess heat emitted while processing data.
This will benefit Keravan Energia’s commitment to clean energy production while smoothing out price fluctuations.
This partnership with Keravan Energia comes shortly after signing the clean heat delivery contract in Kemijärvi, which is already under construction.
OnZero’s team is highly satisfied with the achieved results in Finland within such a short period of time. Many more projects will be announced in the upcoming weeks and months.
